Misty Fjords National Monument encompasses 2.3 million acres within Tongass National Forest and is located about 20 miles East of Ketchikan, Alaska.

Brown and Black bears, Sitka black-tailed deer, mountain goats, wolves, wolverine, river otters, harbor seals, killer whales, Dall porpoise and bald eagles may all be found in Misty Fjords, along with all five Pacific salmon and many birds and other sealife.
There is a magnificent 1,000-foot waterfall flowing from Big Goat Lake which is only visibile via air. The lake was named after the areas heavy concentration of mountain goats.
Behm Canal, a natural channel that is the area’s primary waterway, is more than 100 miles long. It separates Revillagigedo Island from the mainland and extends to the Revillagigedo Channel.
Eddystone Rock is a volcanic plug rising 237 feet from the water that illustrates the dramatic geologic forces that shaped the area six million years ago.

“AMAZING!!! This is a must when visiting Alaska. The Misty Fijords National Monument sea plane tour was breathtaking. We landed on Big Goat Lake midway through the tour and got the most incredible photos. While in flight we saw mountain goats on snow capped mountain tops, a 2,000 ft cascading waterfall, beautiful lakes, and stunning scenery at every turn. Our pilot/tour guide, Jim was very knowledgeable and had a perfect play list for when he wasn't talking. Our favorite Alaska excursion!!”
