The world experienced and trained mountain guides will lead guests on a thrilling rock climbing, rappelling, and ziplining tour throughout the mountains and rain forest of White Pass.

Guests will find climbs appropriate for any ability and all levels of experience can expect a good challenge! A brief narrated ride through the downtown area of historic Skagway and along the Klondike Highway will transport guests to the first portion of their adventure. After a hike to the base of the glacier-smoothed granite cliffs, guests will receive their equipment and safety orientation prior to commencing their climb.

A dozen or more climbing routes offer guests' varying experience a range of opportunities, from easy to challenging. A stunningly unique view awaits each guest at the top as the Skagway River, White Pass and Yukon Route Railway, and encompassing wilderness come into view. An adrenaline-pumping 70-foot rappel brings guests back down the clean granite.

Guests won't be on the ground long, as their guides lead them through the lush rain forest on a series of double cable zip lines, allowing for a hands-free experience. Guests will be able to focus on the fun and cheer each other on as the experienced guides handle the braking system. This tour combines the thrills and excitement of two different activities for the ultimate Skagway adventure.

Requirements:

  • Minimum weight: 50 lbs
  • Maximum weight: 300 lbs (or 52" waist size)
  • Minimum age: 6 years old
  • Closed-toe shoes (sneakers, hiking, or rain boots)
  • Participants should be comfortable with heights and the physical aspects of the tour. This tour is not recommended for people who are pregnant, have had recent neck/back injuries or surgery, or are in a wheelchair.
  • Participants must sign a liability waiver (parent/guardian must sign for minors)

Duration: 4.5 hours (Roundtrip from cruise ship terminal.)

  • 10 minutes - greet guide and tour briefing
  • 20 minutes - interpretive drive to the site
  • 15 minutes - rock climbing/rappelling gear fitting/safety orientation
  • 2 hours - rock climbing and rappelling
  • 15 minutes - ziplining gear fitting/safety orientation
  • 60 minutes - ziplining
  • 15 minutes - relaxing with snacks/beverages
  • 15 minutes - transfer back to ship terminal

  • This tour meets at the end of the pier where your cruise ship is docked. Fully detailed instructions are included on your finalized ticket vouchers.

Experts in the industry, your guides are fun, well-trained, and passionate about guiding and sharing their expert knowledge about the history and natural wonder of Skagway. The guides go through extensive training and hold current first-aid certifications.

All climbing is top-rope climbing on actual granite! There are 12 different climbing routes ranging from 25 to 60 feet with difficulty ranging from about 5.4 to 5.9. All routes will have professional guides doing all the belaying for guests.

No experience is necessary for this tour, and beginners, as well as experts, are welcome!

They range from just under 100 to over 200 feet, and you will be as high as 80 feet in the air.

Restrooms are available on the dock prior to departing for your tour, and non-flushing restrooms at the start/finish of the walk up to the rock and zip line site.

Participants should be comfortable with heights and able to walk on uneven surfaces. This tour is not recommended for people who are pregnant, have had recent neck/back injuries or surgery, are in a wheelchair, are over 300lbs in weight, or with more than a 52" waist.

Layered clothing, long pants, and weather-appropriate dress are recommended. Closed-toe shoes (sneakers, hiking, or rain boots) are required; sandals and other open-toe footwear are not permitted.
