Layered clothing, hats, gloves, sunscreen and sunglasses are strongly recommended. We have rain gear available if the weather warrants it as well as cold weather parkas available for use at camp. We also have gloves available upon request. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are recommended as we provide overboots that will go over your shoes.

For a worry-free day, we highly recommend storing your luggage at your hotel or the Seward Train Depot before embarking on the tour. We also recommend seeing if your cruise line can transfer your bags directly to your hotel or the Train Depot for you. We can hold your luggage, but only during the time of the tour.

Only small backpacks or handbags are permitted.

The average temperature is between 15-20°F cooler than on the ground. However, there are some days that it is warmer on the glacier than it is on the ground. This is the reason why we recommend dressing in layers. The weather in Seward typically ranges between 55°F and 75°F.

In general, we recommend booking the excursion in the morning for this tour, so that if we do encounter weather problems we can push your tour back later in the day. We have tour times throughout the day, however, so book what works best with your schedule.

We provide complimentary water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate in our office. Drinks are not permitted in the helicopter. No food is provided on the tour.

Yes. We have a 300 lbs weight limit per seat.

No. Due to FAA regulations for the helicopters that we fly, we cannot fly anyone over 300 lbs. This weight includes all clothes/gear guest may be wearing.

No. Passengers under 24 months are required to sit on a guardian's lap. You must be able to get in and out of the helicopter without assistance.

We fly as long as visibility permits us to do so. We maintain active communication with our glacier dog sledding camp via satellite phone as conditions at 3700' elevation are often considerably different than at sea level. At times, it may be raining at our airport office but is perfectly sunny at camp. Our flights generally go out unless there is a considerable amount of cloud coverage or high winds. We have an impeccable safety record and only fly if the conditions warrant.

Our helicopters can accommodate 3 passengers in addition to the pilot. There are two seats in the back and one located in the front next to the pilot. Everyone gets a window seat.

There are 2 helicopters available throughout most of the summer season. If you are part of a large group and give us advance warning, we will try to make more machines available.

We fly Robinson 44 helicopters.

We give all our guests the option to sit and relax or to help mush the team under the supervision of the guide.

Each sled can accommodate 3-4 guests.
