Excursion Overview

**WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR THE 2020 SEASON**

Day 1:
Arrive in Anchorage and overnight. Plan to arrive early to explore Alaska's largest city and get a good night's rest before tomorrow's adventure.

Day 2:
Travel north on the Denali Star Train to Denali National Park. Upon arrival, visit the Husky Homestead kennel to get an in-depth look at what it takes to win the Iditarod Sled Dog Race - and get a chance to cuddle a sled dog puppy. Overnight in Denali.

Day 3:
Embark on a full-day journey along the 92 mile Denali Park Road. Your experienced guide will keep you informed and on the lookout for bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and more. Enjoy lunch in the heart of the park before making the return journey. Overnight in Denali.

Day 4:
The morning is yours to explore in Denali. That afternoon, take the Denali Star Train south to Anchorage. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 5:
Ride the Glacier Discovery Train along scenic Turnagain Arm to Portage, where you'll disembark to visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Re-board the train and continue on to the Spencer Glacier Whistle Stop, where you'll enjoy an adventurous afternoon of rafting amid glacial icebergs. Overnight at the Hotel Alyeska.

Day 6:
Board the Coastal Classic Train for Seward, gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Spend the day cruising the fjords, watching for humpback and orca whales, sea lions, otters and more. Return by rail to Anchorage and overnight

Day 7:
Depart from Lake Hood, the world's busiest boat plane airport, to Redoubt Bay, home of one of the most concentrated and viewable bear populations in Alaska. Enjoy a day of bear viewing with your experienced naturalist guide before returning to Anchorage.

Experience rail travel across Alaska at our best rate. Adventure Class cars offer comfortable seating and large picture windows. Adventure Class guests are encouraged to travel between railcars, whether to take advantage of the open seating in our Vista Dome cars or visit the Wilderness Cafe.

On the lower level of GoldStar railcars, passengers enjoy a full-service dining room; GoldStar tickets include meals, all soft beverages and two complimentary adult beverages per trip for passengers over 21.

Baggage service is available. Each ticketed passenger may check two pieces of luggage. The luggage weight limit is 50 pounds per bag. The baggage fee for bikes, excess, oversized, and overweight bags is $20.00 per item. One carry-on item is allowed per person. Carry-on bags may not exceed 15" x 14" x 6". Please remember to carry on medications, cameras or other items that you will need during your train ride.

Tour packages that are canceled 36 or more days before travel will be refunded 90% of the booking value. No refunds will be issued 35 or less days before travel.

  • This tour requires guests to be able to get in and out of buses, boats, and/or airplaces. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. Limited mobility accesible. Short distance walking required.
