The waters surrounding Ketchikan are some of the best fishing grounds in the world with record catches of salmon, halibut, shrimp, and dungeness crab. Ketchikan has always been a fishing town, earning the title in the early 1900's as 'The Salmon Capitol of the World'. For decades salmon canneries dotted the landscape in Southeast Alaska to capture and can Alaska's rich salmon resource. The great cannery days are now gone, a relic of the past and today Ketchikan is better known as 'The Sportfishing Capitol of the World' due to the high number of charter boats and fishing lodges in the area.
Upon arriving at our facility guests will be introduced to their charter boat captain and board the charter vessel where they will receive a required safety briefing before departing. Guests will fill out fishing licenses while traveling to the fishing grounds. Upon arrival the boat captain will conduct an equipment and fishing briefing and guests will have 3.5 to 4 hours of fishing time. During the return trip to dock the boat captain will assist passengers with any custom fish processing orders they may wish to submit. Passengers may also take photos with their fish and boat captain upon returning to dock.
