Excursion Overview

A soaring, rainforest eco-adventure

Upon arriving, you'll board a 4x4 all-terrain Unimog for a short drive to the briefing camp. Here, you'll receive a detailed safety briefing and gear up with state-of-the-art safety equipment. A short uphill walk takes you to the zipline where your guide will introduce you to the ziplines that will take you on your aerial adventure.

You'll witness panoramic ocean, forest, and mountain vistas from the platforms in this lush rainforest preserve. Each successive zip ride provides a unique perspective and a new challenge. You'll be challenged as you zoom along 7 ziplines and rappel between platforms through hemlock and cedar-filled forest.

Back at the base camp, time permitting, you are invited to tour the historic Fleenor Sawmill, observe a Master Native Totem Carver at work before exploring a garden of completed totem poles, visit the Alaska Raptor Center's Ketchikan exhibit to see their amazing birds of prey up close or check out the offerings at the General Store to cap off this exhilarating day.

We really enjoyed our zip line adventure in Ketchikan. The guides were funny, kind, and encouraging. The zip lines were very well maintained and the rappelling option was quite fun to try. Alaska Shore Excursions was excellent to deal with. We had missed the window of time to sign up for a zip line adventure and still make our ship's gangway up time when planning for our trip, so I contacted them to see if it was possible to arrange one. They contacted the zip line company and were able to secure a time for us to go. Their customer service reps were personable and knowledgeable. I would definitely book through them again in the future.
