This tour follows the City of Lights & Flowers impressive greenbelt while highlighting organizations such as the Alaska Botanical Garden and the William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery in addition to estuaries and wildlife preserves all within the city limits - this is not your average City Tour, because Anchorage is not an average city!
Guests will experience an eco tour within the city limits of Anchorage on this excursion. Led by a naturalist, this half day tour brings guest to explore the ecological treasures of Anchorage. Stroll along the boreal forest trails and learn about the varied ecosystems, plant and animal species that make living in the boreal forest such an adventure. A unique experience awaits guests as they walk in the woods through Alaska's largest city.
Next, guests will get a close look at the influence of fish on the Alaskan ecosystem at the Jack Hernandez Fish Hatchery. The tour finishes at the Anchorage Coastal Wildlife Refuge for ample opportunity to observe birds and plant species in an estuary bordering the Cook Inlet.
During the tour, guests will activate all of their senses while sipping the sustainably-harvested wild Alaska Chaga mushroom tea and an Alaskan salmon treat. A comfortable ride and enjoyable snacks along with glacier wellness water are complimentary to guests while their local Alaskan guide regales them with the vast ecological knowledge of the area.
